On a warm Saturday in October, 14 mentees and 10 mentors were welcomed at the beautiful Marietta estate of one of GVP’s generous donors, Cheryl Davis & Kurt Kuehn. The girls spent a beautiful day paddle boating on their lake, fishing and taking golf cart tours around their 55 acre estate. They even spent time carving pumpkins and eating a delicious lunch together. We all had the best time and appreciate the generosity of Cheryl & Kurt — they made the day special and enjoyable for all of us. The best news is, they said it can be an annual event, so we look forward to even more girls enjoying themselves and each other next year! Thank you again to Cheryl, Kurt and all of the mentors who participated. It was a blast!

A huge thank you to Annie and Amy for taking your mentees on this overnight camping experience. They all had a wonderful time (although some of them learned that they don’t like sleeping in a tent and prefer the Hike Inn). They all enjoyed themselves in nature and were blessed with beautiful weather. Thank you also to the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club tour  guides, Pete, Sue and Laurie. Thank you mentors for helping the girls get prepared for this camping experience — it always takes a village!
