What an amazing day we had at the 2024 Welcome Walk, proudly presented by Delta Air Lines! Together, we raised over $155,000 to support GVP! With more than 300 participants, the event was a joyful celebration of community and support for our students.

The day kicked off with an energetic Zumba session led by Gigi. Afterward, our students shared heartfelt stories about what GVP means to them. A Form 3 student from Afghanistan touched hearts when she said, “My favorite things about GVP are the caring teachers who inspire us every day and the friendships that make each moment special.”

At the finish line, the celebration was in full swing! The Garden Fresh Pickers Bluegrass Band kept the energy high while everyone enjoyed delicious food from the Refugee Women Network Chef’s Club, Kee Lar Thai Restaurant, Melissa’s Sweet Melts, and King of Pops. Face painting was enjoyed by adults and students alike, while alumni brought even more joy tattooing beautiful, intricate henna designs on hands, and hosting an arts and crafts table for kids of all ages.

To wrap up the day, we were treated to inspiring performances by the Moving in the Spirit dancers and our very own GVP choir – a true showcase of the talent and spirit within our village!
