GLOBAL VILLAGE WELCOME WALK 2021

Global Village Project announces its 9th Annual Welcome walk, which till take place on November 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Refuge Coffee (4170 E Ponce de Leon Ave, Clarkston, GA 30021)

Global Village Project’s annual Welcome Walk brings together students, parents, teachers, volunteers, donors and friends to come together as we seek to strengthen connections between communities. The 5 mile walk along the PATH Trail will begin at Refuge Coffee and finish at Global Village Project, Decatur Presbyterian Church (205 Sycamore Street, Decatur, GA 30030). Following the walk, join us for festivities at the Finish Line Celebration, featuring clothing vendors, henna making, and more!

In the next few months, the State of Georgia expects to welcome over 2000 refugees from all over the world into our communities. According to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, “Experience has demonstrated that parents are unable to achieve or maintain economic self-sufficiency if the needs of the members of their household, including their children, are not met.” At GVP, we focus on the education of girls because the wholeness of their families is in part anchored on that.

Approximately 300 people will gather in support of refugee girls’ education. Every dollar we raise makes it possible for us to reactivate the schooling of refugee girls and provide them with a strong educational foundation in a welcoming environment. GVP relies on individual donations so that our students can attend tuition-free. Show your support by registering today!

Cost: $20; $10 with student discount. Participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last. To learn more, register, or donate, please visit: https://bit.ly/GVPWelcomeWalk2021

Let us welcome refugees and immigrants into our community!

Global Village Project is an accredited, special purpose middle school for refugee girls aged 11-18 with interrupted schooling which exists so these students  can access all the benefits of a holistic education.
