Dear friends, partners, and caring community,

I am thrilled to announce that after an exhaustive search, Elizabeth Elango Bintliff has accepted the GVP Board of Directors’ offer to serve as the next Chief Executive Officer & Head of School at Global Village Project. elizabeth 2 221x332 1We are beyond excited for Elizabeth to transition into her new role, ringing in what we are confident will be a powerful and impactful next chapter for GVP. Throughout the stages of the interview process, while interacting with a variety of stakeholders from our community, Elizabeth demonstrated to all that she embodies what the GVP team, students, and broader community seek in a leader. She has a clear commitment to and passion for championing youth, with a proven and expansive track record from leadership roles at Junior Achievement Africa and Heifer International. Dr. Amy Pelissero writes, “I am eager and excited to welcome Elizabeth and to work beside her. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role that I feel certain will powerfully strengthen the work we have begun at GVP, as we look to the future.”

Dr. Amy will proceed in keeping with her love for our students and dedication to their wellbeing and will serve this year, her last year with us at GVP, as School Principal. Over the next school year, Dr. Amy will work closely with Elizabeth to support her successful transition to GVP and help secure GVP’s sustained impact on refugee girls’ education. We are so incredibly thankful for Dr. Amy’s transformative leadership these past eight years as Head of School, and look forward to many opportunities ahead to share our appreciation for her heart and vision.

We are honored to welcome Elizabeth to our community! She is scheduled to start at GVP on September 21, 2020. A transition team comprising board members, the school’s executive team, and existing GVP consultants will lead her onboarding to ensure her smooth transition to GVP. In the months ahead, please stay tuned for invitations to get to know Elizabeth across a range of opportunities; we look forward to sharing more with you about the vision she brings to our work, her passion for girls’ education, and her commitment to youth empowerment.
