The last day of school at GVP is always something special, and this year’s “GVP’s Got Talent” show was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible year. The fellowship hall buzzed with excitement as students and staff gathered to celebrate the diverse talents of our school.

The talents on display covered a variety of categories: visual art, singing, traditional dances from home countries, presentations and more. One thing that became immediately clear was that no one would perform alone! Whether belting out chart-topping hits or delivering soulful ballads, singers were joined by anyone who knew the words, drawing cheers and applause from the audience. Dance performances started out with just two or three performers, but quickly doubled and tripled as more and more girls joined in, dancing with joy and grace.

One of the standout moments was a presentation by two students on the importance of hugs. They shared some enlightening facts: for survival, we need four hugs a day; for maintenance, we need eight hugs a day; and for growth, we need twelve hugs a day! This sweet and educational segment on the benefits of hugs had everyone smiling.

The students weren’t the only stars of the show. Our staff members got in on the action with a thrilling “type-off” to determine who could type the fastest and most accurately. The room was filled with loud cheering and screaming as Ms. Hannah, Mr. Will and Ms. Danielle competed fiercely. In the end, Ms. Danielle triumphed, her fingers flying across the keyboard with impressive speed and precision. Bravo, Ms. Danielle!

In a touching gesture, GVP staff came together to sing “Lean on Me” to the students. Our rendition was more than just a performance—it was a heartfelt message of support and community. As our voices filled the room, it was a beautiful reminder that we can always lean on each other in times of need.

As the show came to an end, the reality of the last day of school began to sink in. There were plenty of tears as we said goodbye to friends and staff moving on to new adventures. But amidst the sadness, there was also a lot of joy and laughter. We celebrated the year’s achievements, cherished the memories, and looked forward to the future with hope and excitement.

“GVP’s Got Talent” was more than just a talent show—it was a celebration of our community, our creativity, and our support for one another. As we look back on this wonderful event, we do so with gratitude and anticipation for what the next school year will bring.
