Global Village Welcome Walk

Our annual fall Welcome Walk (previously called the Connecting Communities Walk) is a tradition at GVP that celebrates community building and friend raising. Welcome Walk participants walk the 4.8 miles from Clarkston, where our students live, to GVP in downtown Decatur.

The Welcome Walk is a fun-filled morning for meeting new and old friends, learning about GVP, and sharing music and food… with a bit of exercise thrown in! The event is growing each year, with more than 250 participants and 30 sponsors at our November 2018 walk.

If you represent a business interesting in sponsoring the next Welcome Walk in 2019, we are happy to provide you with a sponsorship packet for more information. Please contact Kate Mull at kmull@globalvillageproject.org or sign up online as a sponsor now!

Welcome Walk 2019 is Saturday, November 2nd!

Our registration site is now live! Please consider joining us at the event as a walker, sponsor, or partner... or help support the event by setting up a personal fundraiser.

On November 3, 2018, more than 250 participants joined GVP for our Welcome Walk from Clarkston to Decatur.

Authors' Teas

One of our favorite GVP traditions is our quarterly Authors’ Teas, where students showcase their learning in a performance for community members. We invite the public to join us at these events, held on Friday afternoons throughout the school year.

Our 2019-2020 Authors' Teas dates are September 27th, December 6th, March 6th, and May 1st. RSVP for our next Authors' Tea.

Tribute to Education 2019: Raising our Voices, Then & Now

GVP’s Tribute gala on April 28th was a magical evening! The generosity and commitment of our global village family - both those in attendance as well as those who couldn't make it - to the young women of GVP truly showed. Together we raised $250,000 that is dedicated to our students' continued achievements and to providing them with a high quality education. Thank you!
