A Singular Education

Global Village Project is the only school in the country dedicated to educating refugee girls who have had their education interrupted.

It Only Takes One

Each and every girl we educate has the potential to not only change her life and that of her family’s, but also her community and even the world. Your gift helps us prepare our students to be undaunted, and allows us to pioneer an innovative model of refugee education to share with educators globally. DONATE NOW >

Merging Many Worlds

Our 45 students come from 1 of 12 African or Asian countries and collectively speak 15 languages—from French to Kinyarwanda and Kirundi to Matu Chin. APPLY FOR ADMISSION >

Arts are integral to teaching and learning at GVP providing students with ongoing experiences that give them tools to express themselves and learn that creative pursuits are a part of innovative thinking. Music, performing, and visual arts act as a means for students to display their strengths, knowledge and identities. Now, with a recent grant from a generous partner, GVP will substantially enhance its STEAM offering over the next two years.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) is an interdisciplinary and integrated approach to 21st century teaching and learning that emphasizes creativity, communication, and collaboration.

Migrations: A GVP Author's Tea

We hope to see you on March 6th for our next student showcase!

Held 3-4 times a year, GVP Author's Teas are a special event where students share what they have learned with an audience of GVP friends and community members. Each Author's Tea is based on the students' most recent learning unit, and our student 'authors' work very hard with faculty to plan and produce a program that highlights their accomplishments and GVP’s unique, innovative approach to education. Each Authors' Tea includes a short program followed by a reception. Through these events, GVP students have an opportunity to build their confidence, and the GVP family gets a chance to gather together for conversation with students, staff, volunteers, and friends.

Our upcoming Author's Tea will focus on the learning unit Migrations, and it will be held on March 6th, 2020 from 2 pm to 3 pm. We hope to see you there! Please RSVP here.

We're so lucky at GVP to have such a strong and committed volunteer corps of over 200 active volunteers! Thanks to everyone who attended our New Volunteer Orientation last week and our Intercultural and Trauma-Informed Training yesterday!

We love volunteers who want to make an impact on refugee girls' education, and our trainings help share tools and resources about meeting the unique needs of our students. If you'd like to join our volunteer program, apply today! globalvillageproject.org/engage/volunteer/
