Our Community Partners
Decatur Presbyterian Church is among our strongest and oldest community partners. DPC provides classroom space for our school at a highly reduced rate. In summer 2017, it renovated the entire building space, including all of Global Village Project, improving its functionality and security.
Agnes Scott College has provided strong support for our organization since its inception, with faculty among the founders of the school. Recent President Elizabeth Kiss sat on GVP’s Advisory Board for many years. Agnes Scott allows our students to eat lunch in their dining hall at a reduced charge and provides our school with a paid work/study intern, while faculty from the Education Department collaborate with our teachers to teach joint classes at GVP and ASC.
Alliance Theatre is funding two drama internship placements at GVP and is providing a highly trained and qualified teaching artist to lead a literature-based unit supporting literacy and English Language Learning through drama.
Berry Education students and faculty will participate for the 6th year in 2018 in a “Maymester” program at GVP, working with our Head of School and faculty and engaging in classroom teaching and learning.
GVP is a member of CRSA, allowing us to deepen our engagement with the rest of the refugee-serving community and come together on issues relevant to the refugee population.
