Authors' Teas

One of our favorite GVP traditions is our quarterly Authors’ Teas, where students showcase their learning in a performance for community members. We invite the public to join us at these events, held on Friday afternoons throughout the school year.

Our 2018-2019 Authors' Teas dates are September 21st, December 7th, March 1st, and May 18th. RSVP for our next Tea on September 21st.

Global Village Welcome Walk

Our annual fall Welcome Walk (previously called the Connecting Communities Walk) is a tradition at GVP that celebrates community building and friend raising. Welcome Walk participants walk the 4.8 miles from Clarkston, where our students live, to GVP in downtown Decatur.

The Welcome Walk is a fun-filled morning for meeting new and old friends, learning about GVP, and sharing music and food… with a bit of exercise thrown in! The event is growing each year, with more than 200 participants and 17 sponsors at our November 2017 walk.

If you represent a business interesting in sponsoring this year’s Welcome Walk, we are happy to provide you with a sponsorship packet for more information. Please contact Erin Alred at

Our 2018 Global Village Welcome Walk will be held on November 3rd, 2018. Support the event as a sponsor, a partner, a fundraiser, or a walker!

On November 5, 2017, more than 200 participants joined GVP for our Connecting Communities Walk from Clarkston to Decatur.

Tribute to Education

Each year we celebrate the amazing young women of GVP at our spring gala. The event includes dinner and cocktails, a live auction and paddle raise, and performances by the GVP Ensemble. We were so thrilled to welcome GVP alumna Bertha Nibigira as our keynote speaker at our 2018 Tribute to Education in April. Bertha is one of our first two alumnae to graduate from college! The evening was a huge success, raising over $250,000 for Global Village Project. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our school during this special event.
