A Singular Education

Global Village Project is the only school in the country dedicated to educating refugee girls who have had their education interrupted.

It Only Takes One

Each and every girl we educate has the potential to not only change her life and that of her family’s, but also her community and even the world. Your gift helps us prepare our students to be undaunted, and allows us to pioneer an innovative model of refugee education to share with educators globally. DONATE NOW >

Merging Many Worlds

Arts are integral to teaching and learning at GVP providing students with ongoing experiences that give them tools to express themselves and learn that creative pursuits are a part of innovative thinking. Music, performing, and visual arts act as a means for students to display their strengths, knowledge and identities. Now, with a recent grant from a generous partner, GVP will substantially enhance its STEAM offering over the next two years.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) is an interdisciplinary and integrated approach to 21st century teaching and learning that emphasizes creativity, communication, and collaboration.

We're back for our 10th School Year!

After an active summer of learning, we're excited to celebrate new and old friends.

Global Village Project was back in session on August 6th, with 46 students enrolled - our biggest class yet! We're always excited about the start of a new school year and the learning and community building headed our way, but this year we're especially joyful to be celebrating Global Village Project's 10th Anniversary! We're looking forward to sharing the stories that have helped make GVP possible over the last decade, from our founders to our partners to our alumnae ambassadors. GVP wouldn't be what it is without these voices, spreading the word about our special school, and we are honored to have this chance to celebrate the achievements of our first ten years as a school.

This month as we raise our voices in thanks for the founders, volunteers, and supporters that have made GVP possible, we also challenge our community to deepen our investment in the current and future students of Global Village Project. Each week we’ll be inviting you to engage in a new way. Together, let’s give the gift of education and elevate these young women and future leaders.

Thanks again to our Welcome Walk sponsors, partners, volunteers, and participants. Welcome Walk 2018 was a tremendous success! This year's walk raised over $56,000 for Global Village Project - more than double the impact of last year’s event. Turnout was also a record high, with nearly 250 participants walking or volunteering. Whether you got involved as a sponsoring business, a community partner, or a personal fundraiser; whether you donated in support of the event or joined us in person... without YOU this day would not have been possible! GVP was one of a few organizations handpicked by Spanx to participate in their first Philanthrophy Fair to raise awareness and support for our work today. Our Community Engagement Manager, Teni-Ola Ogunjobi, shared a GVP alumna’s story and our work with about 200 Spanx employees. Afterwards, she and our Development Manager, Erin Alred, discussed ways to get involved with GVP at the fair. Thanks to Spanx’s Founder Sara Blakely and the Spanx team for inviting GVP. We hope to engage your Spanx-ters in opportunities in our community. Let’s continue elevating women and girls on the planet! #Spanx #SpanxFoundation #GlobalVillageProject #PhilanthropyFair #ElevatingWomen #WCW ... See MoreSee Less
